Gabriel Valdez, assistant band director, is a San Antonio native who graduated from the University of Houston where he was part of the Spirit of HoustonMarching Band, Symphonic Band, and various other trumpet and brass ensembles. Mr. Valdez also marched with the 2008 DCI World Championship Finalist Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. 

 

He was the Associated Band Director at Brackenridge where he assisted the band program in receiving superior ratings at UIL marching contests, UIL Area contest, and consecutive UIL sweepstakes with the Symphonic Band.

 

Mr. Valdez also played an integral part in rebuilding winter guard and have placed in the top half of their division as well as becoming a Bronze medalist for the T.E.C.A. circuit. Mr. Valdez team taught the honor wind ensemble and concert bands as well as successfully conducted the Brackenridge High School Orchestra.
