TMEA Region Band Information
REGION 29 6A & Freshman ALL-REGION BANDS
Students,
Congratulations on your acceptance into the TMEA Region 29 All Region Band. Your hard
work and dedication have earned you this prestigious honor that will culminate with your
performance in the annual Region Clinic and Concert. You have earned the unique opportunity
to combine with the finest musicians the region has to offer to rehearse and perform with the
superb conductors chosen from across the state.
Please review the dates and times below so that you may successfully fulfill your obligations in
the Region 29 High School All-Region Band:
Wednesday, April 13th – Taft High School
1:30 PM to 4:30 PM
● Freshman Band – Meet in A2 Band Hal or stagel
6 pm – 9:00 pm
● 6A 1st Band – Meet on stage
● 6A 2nd Band – Meet in A1 Band Hall
BREAK AS NEEDED
Thursday, April 14th – Taft High School
9:15 am – 12:00 pm
● 6A 1st Band – Meet in A1 Band Hall
● 6A 2nd Band – Meet on stage
● Freshman Band – Meet in A2 Band Hall
BREAK AS NEEDED
12:00pm – 1:30pm – Lunch
6A 1st band
1:30pm – 5:00pm Rehearse in A1 Band Hall, then take time for dinner and get
dressed for an 8:00 pm concert. Call time is 7:15pm.
6A 2nd Band
1:30 – 4:00pm Rehearse in A2 Band Hall, then take time to dress for a 7:00pm
concert (it may be a good idea to pack snacks for this period of
time). Call time is 6:15pm.
Freshman Band
1:30 – 4:00pm Rehearse on stage, then take time to dress for a 6:00pm concert (it
may be a good idea to pack snacks for this period of time). Call
time is 5:30.
Clinicians for the region bands are as follows:
6A 1st band - Prof. Jerry Junkin- Director of Bands at University of Texas at Austin
6A 2nd band – Dr. Daniel Belongia- Director of Bands at Arkansas Tech University
Freshman band – Mr. Ferd Vollmar- retired, University of Texas at Austin, Incarnate Word
Coordinators for the ensembles are as follows:

6A 2nd band, The Warren HS Band Staff
Freshman band, The Clark HS Band Staff
**PLEASE COME PREPARED TO REHEARSALS WITH YOUR INSTRUMENT,
MUSIC WITH NUMBERED MEASURES AND A PENCIL**
Concert attire is each student’s home campus concert attire.
Percussion students: you must provide your own sticks/mallets/accessory instruments, snare
drums, cymbals, and bells (including suspended cymbals and all stands for snares and cymbals).
Only timpani, bass drum, marimba and xylophone will be provided.
Brass students must provide their own mutes.
Congratulations once again! Your families, teachers and the community look forward to hearing
you perform in the concert.
